Fat-Off 2010: Dodgeball
Things I learned today: Practicing squats in the morning paid off today since I had to do so many from being hit at the start of Dodgeball. "Burpies" suck however and I still don't mind hip lunges or jumping jacks. I got a blister after the 3rd round so sat out 2 rounds but came back in the last where I avoided being hit a lot but spent a lot more time chasing balls than catching any.
Eventually, I gotta take one of these winning team point challenges, but thats the competitive nature in mean that wants to still pull ahead in the participation points. It gets discouraging sometimes like today when I got hit last and cost my team the W, but overall there's still 11 weeks left and the point of the challenges is to make weight loss fun and find activities you can sustain after the fat-off to maintain the weight-loss. I'm dreading the basketball event on thursday like whoa though; I hated playing basketball in high school strictly because I was the fat kid who had to huff and puff down the court so I have a really bad negative association with it, so we'll see.
Upside, I have been dropping weight since this competition started, so hopefully weighin day Wednesday will see me well there.
